Jason & deMarco are again setting out on the road this Spring to spread their unique brand of inspiring music. Their journey “Celebrating Diversity” begins in Nashville, Saturday, March 29th and will continue performing over 20 concerts traveling through the Southeast and over to Texas, ending in Sherwood, AR on Tuesday, April 29th. Jason & deMarco will again board the RV tour bus along with Jason’s parents and the duo’s newest additions, their two-year old twin sons, Mason and Noah.
“We saw how including my parents on our last two tours was such a powerful statement of reconciliation; showing a mothers and fathers acceptance and support of their son, his partner and our non-traditional family of diversity" says Jason. "A highlight in our show is when Jason’s mom performs with us on stage and we plan on doing more of this on the Spring tour", says deMarco.
The tour will also be a book launch for Jason's recent book release, "The Journey of Same-Sex Surrogacy", which will be available for purchase after concerts and a book-signing will be offered.
"We hope that everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from, will come together for a great concert experience, celebrating their differences, while being inspired and feeling a part of this exciting time in history where civil rights and equality for all is being established,” says Jason. “With having our sons with us on the road and including them in our show, we also hope other families of diversity will come out to support one another and celebrate their diversity with us in concert”.
Jason & deMarco first recorded a Christmas album together in 2002 and launched a national Christmas tour. They had such an overwhelming response to their tour that they began recording more albums together and to-date have released six CD’s and several singles, two that climbed the Billboard charts and a music video for their hit song “This is Love” that won “Video of the Year” on LOGO in 2006. Jason & deMarco’s most recent album release is SAFE. They will perform many of the tracks from the album on their “Celebrating Diversity” tour as well as new arrangements to well-known songs that they have yet to record.
The duo have performed throughout the world including Naples, Venice, Barcelona and Thailand. In 2005, they were actually banned from Singapore for being an openly gay couple. However, a year later, they were invited back to perform to Singapore to a sold-out event with over one thousand in attendance. A government official actually attended and publicly apologized for the ban from the stage.
Almost all concerts will be on a donation (love offering) basis with a $20 suggested minimum.
A portion of proceeds from the tour will support SAFE (a 501c3 that offers support to GLBTQ foster and homeless youth).
